Three 90's Inspired Fashion Trends for Spring
As a 90s kid, I have a major soft spot for anything that reminds me of the 90s… scrunchies, Kaboodles, baby bottle pops, boy bands. I mean, come on. That stuff was great. And while some 90s fashion trends probably don’t need a resurrection, there are 3 hot trends with 90s roots that I am 100% ready to embrace this spring (and they are all super wearable, casual and easy to incorporate into any look):
NEON: What better way to make a bold statement than with a pop of neon? I’ve been seeing neon pink, yellow, blue and green show up everywhere and while it’s definitely not for the faint of heart, it’s pretty fun and badass if you can pull it off. Whether you are opting for a neon sweatshirt, neon glasses, neon shorts, neon bikinis or even neon nail polish, I think the key is to keep the rest of your look toned down. Too much is too much and with neon a little goes a long way.
BIKER SHORTS: These are definitely a piece that you either love or hate, and I definitely love them. And my inner 8-year-old self is pretty giddy to see these popping up everywhere including the runway. These are super casual, sporty and comfy so they work great with an oversized t-shirt and tennis shoes to run errands. They are also pretty fun to dress up with a pair of heels (that’s definitely a look).
TIE DYE: Tie dye has got to be one of the best prints ever. It’s just so freaking cool and fun. And while it has 70s inspiration it was a total staple for all of us in the 90s. I’ve been seeing tie dye everything including shirts, sweatshirts, bikinis, pants, shorts, etc. If you read my April Favorites you may have seen that i just bought a super cute Spiritual Gangster tie dye sweatshirt and have basically been living in that thing. I love when fashion can also be comfy and practical.
What trends are you into this season?
