My Experience Getting a Personal Skin Consultation [PLUS DISCOUNT CODE FOR 50% OFF]

Guys, I’m starting to realize I have a slight skincare obsession. Discovering new products, getting facials, using my face rollers, throwing on a sheet mask… I get giddy just thinking about it. So, when Art of Skincare asked if I wanted to try out their skincare consult program I quickly said yes! I actually started ordering products from Art of Skincare a couple years ago because they are one of the only companies - online or in person - that carries my beloved Face Realty line (this stuff completely cleared up my skin) and they have so many products and brands that are truly acne-safe (you can read more about what you shouldn’t put on acne-prone skin from my previous post, here).

So, if you are dealing with any skin issues or just don’t know what products to use, a consult is a GREAT starting place. Honestly, I don’t know how anyone could just wander into a store or search a website and possibly decipher from thousands of products which ones are right for them. I 100% recommend consulting an expert whether that be an aesthetician, dermatologist or skin expert. And my consult with Art of Skincare was great! It was super easy, the aesthetician I worked with (Morgan) was informative and helpful and she recommended some really great products for me based on my personal skin type.

GETTING MY CONSULT STEP-BY-STEP:
First, I had to choose between the Acne & Blemish Prone Rx or the Healthy-Aging Rx. Although my skin is pretty clear for the most part, I definitely would say I am acne-prone and easily breakout if I’m not using the right things so I went with the Acne & Blemish Prone option. The next step was filling out a consult form with questions about my morning and evening skincare routines, products I’m using, supplements I’m taking and some general lifestyle questions. The form was pretty short and straightforward so it didn’t take me too long to fill out, but you definitely want to be thorough and detailed. You are also encouraged to attach photos (which are optional, but I think totally necessary in order to get the most accurate and helpful feedback).

Once I submitted everything I received a very detailed email with tons of info on what I should be doing, what I should not be doing (things like using Acnegenic makeup or picking at my skin) and lots of “study guides” with facts and tips about acne, birth control, diet, etc. I LOVE reading as much as I can about skincare so I was stoked and totally enjoyed geeking out and reading all of it.

And shortly after that I received my personal skincare recommendation based on my consult form and photos. Morgan checked each product I currently use to make sure it was acne-safe and provided some general tips as well as a complete morning and night routine, PLUS a few supplements and body products that will all promote healthy, clear skin. It was much more thorough than I expected and super amazing! She was easy to work with and very helpful with any questions I had. I am so stoked to start applying her advice (I’m getting Omega and Zinc supplements) as well as a few new products and even some things like Gauze Toner Pads, which help your toner last longer and provide additional exfoliation (genius, right?!).

Ok, who wants to get their own skin consult? I’ve got a discount code just for you!
Use the code SARAHRX to get 50% off a consult (which means you can get one for just $25). And the best part is that the funds are applied to your account in the form of an online store credit, which can be applied toward your next product purchase! So, you can get a full consult for $25 and then have $25 credited back you to use towards products. And follow-up care is free. If you give it a whirl, leave a comment below and let me know how it goes! And if you have any questions, please let me know.
