Monthly Favs: November
Madewell Hollis Double-Breasted Coat This coat was truly love at first sight! It’s the perfect camel-colored, menswear-inspired topcoat and such a timeless piece. I love how it’s just slightly oversized so it’s easy to wear over bulkier winter sweaters. It looks great with jeans if you want to be more casual, and definitely is sleek enough for business attire, too. (pssst… it’s also 25% off right now so the price point is great!)
OPI GelColor Malaga Wine Anyone who knows me knows I ALWAYS have my nails painted. My go-to colors are nude and red, and while I definitely love a bright cherry red, during the fall/winter there’s something about a rich burgundy like this that just calls to me.
Dermaviduals PlutioDerm® Plus I’m enjoying the cooler temps and the holiday decorations, but what I’m not enjoying is the heat blasting and drying the heck out of my skin! It’s rough (pun-intended). Luckily, switching up skincare products helps, which is why I’ve ditched my lighter moisturizer for this bad boy. It’s a little on the pricier side, but so worth the money. Plus, a little goes a long way and trust me, your skin will thank you!
SkinnyPop Sea Salt Popcorn Cakes If the FDA didn’t require companies to list all ingredients on the package, I’d swear these were made with crack. There’s not much else to say about ‘em other than they’re delicious and I love them. I’d describe them as rice cakes made with corn rather than rice, so they do have more flavor and can be eaten plain or with your fav toppings.
KOR Potent-C Shot Made with sea buckthorn juice, camu camu, baobab, pineapple juice, orange juice and lemon juice these little 1.7 ounce super immune-boosting shots pack a punch. With a little over 100% of your daily dose of Vitamin C, they’re great for boosting immunity (which we all need during flu season), increasing antioxidant levels, improving iron absorption and just giving you a little health kick whenever you feel the need. They also taste delicious so they’re something I feel good about and enjoy, too.
Vince Stretch Leggings I know $225 for black leggings seems a tad excessive - and I definitely didn’t pay full price, I got them on sale thanks to Shoptagr - but these leggings are HIGH-QUALITY. And let’s face it, how many of us live in leggings, big sweaters and boots for a good portion of the winter? These are much thicker than any most other leggings I’ve tried so they almost qualify as a pant-replacement (although I still tend to opt for a shirt that covers my butt, but you do you).
1. State Saffy Block Heel Pump The chunky 3-inch block heel on these makes them super comfy and easy to wear all-day. I bought them in white and they look so sleek with jeans and a cute shirt at night, or dressed up for work. And at $89.95 I’d say they are a great, affordable option for heels.
Cocomels Coconut Milk Caramels Gingerbread Spice Holiday-flavored vegan caramels?! Yes, please! I’m obviously not going to sit here and try to convince anyone that these are healthy, but with 30% less sugar than other candy and no high fructose corn syrup, I’d say they are a better option. I have my candy bowl filled with ‘em and even as someone with a major sweet tooth, having just one piece (errr, maybe two) is all I need to curb a candy craving.
Therapedic Electric Heated Silky Plush Throw Blanket If you haven’t experienced an electric blanket, you’re seriously missing out. This plush, faux fur throw is not only soft and stylish, but will keep you toasty warm thanks to its four heat settings - warm, low, medium and high. And if anyone is interested, yes, my dog is a big fan, too.
Bodyguard I’m pretty picky about TV shows and was slightly hesitant about this one. But after it showed up on my recommended list on Netflix for weeks, I caved and, admittedly, was hooked after one episode. It's well-written, has good acting and is fast paced…. oh, and Richard Madden and that Scottish accent aren’t bad, either.
