Fall Fashion Trends
Fall is synonymous with sweaters, boots, coats and plenty of cozy layers. And while those are all great fall staples that never go out of style, this year I have my eye on five trends:
the color red
RED: If this season has a color it would be bright, poppy red. Red is such a sexy, fun color and one that makes a bold statement while also being classic and timeless. Whether you want to go big with a red dress or add a pop of color with some bright slides or a bold blazer, you can’t go wrong with red! It looks great with any neutrals - black, grey, white, etc. - and is an easy color to work with.
SHEARLING: Is there anything cozier than shearling? I think not. This fuzzy fabric has long been a fabric mainstay, but this year it’s been upgraded to high-fashion status, making appearances in designer look books and even on the runway. I love shearling coats and jackets, and it make a great addition as a liner or collar, but what I’m really love are the playful yet stylish shearling bags and shoes.
BLAZERS: Adding to the long list of menswear inspired pieces - think boyfriend jeans, grandpa sweaters, loafers and more - blazers really take any look to the next level. I love wearing jeans and a simple T with a slightly oversized blazer and heels or throwing a cute blazer on over a short cocktail dress. Day or night, blazers are always a good idea.
TEDDY JACKETS: These started to show up on my radar in 2016, but seem to continue to grow in popularity… and for good reason. They are so damn cute and cozy!
STARS: I think anyone who knows me is starting to notice I have a thing for stars and lucky for me they are also trending right now. Score! And they are cute and patriotic and look good with everything so can you blame me?
