Monthly Favs: August

Hello! I took a bit of a blogging break, but I am back and will be picking up with my normal posting schedule. I love doing my monthly favorite posts because I buy a lot of stuff so why not share, right? This one is a little late, but I’m gonna go with the old saying - better late than never. Without further ado, here are my August favorites…

  1. Madewell Caldwell Plaid Double Breasted Blazer Blazers had a major moment last year and from the looks of it they are topping the lists again for the fall season must-haves. I love, love, LOVE the cut of this one. It’s like the perfect boyfriend blazer, but if you had a petite boyfriend with stellar taste. It’s a little oversized throughout and has a longer cut. It looks great with skinny jeans and the sleeves scrunched up. And the plaid print with double-breasted buttons is to die for.

  2. Rag & Bone Mac Ribbed Tank Dress I think there is something so sexy but in an understated way about a midi tank dress. This one is definitely on the pricier side but I think it’s something I will get so much wear out of. It’s so soft and comfy, and just hugs your body in all the right places. I’ve been wearing it with slides or tennis shoes to run errands on the weekend or a pair of wedge sandals or heels for a night out.

  3. Free People Main Squeeze Hacci Sweater This lightweight sweater is the perfect transition piece from summer to fall. It’s super soft and slouchy and slightly oversized so it’s easy to throw on with jeans, shorts or even a pair of leggings. It comes in several colors including black and grey, but I love the bright blue to give a splash of color to your outfit.

  4. Floppy Straw Hat from Target I traveled to Flathead Lake in Montana last month and really wanted a good straw hat that would cover my face while I was on a boat. I found this gem at Target for $14.99 and it was perfect, although I can’t seem to find it online anywhere. I’ll admit it hasn’t kept its shape that well, but for under $15 I can’t complain. I love the almost cowboy hat shape with the seashell details. If you are looking for a hat, definitely check out Target.

  5. Vince Wide Sleeve Hoodie (ON SALE) I get cold really easily so I’m always looking for good sweaters, hoodies and pieces I can layer, but at the same time, I hate looking like I threw on a sweatshirt and called it a day. I want something cozy and warm but still stylish. Well, I think this hoodie fits the bill. The bell sleeves add some nice interest to the hoodie and the terry cloth fabric reminds me of the 90s (anyone else wear a lot of terry cloth in the 90s or was that just me?). I also think the white is super crisp and a little dressier than your typical grey or black hoodie.

  6. Onzie High Rise Midi Leggings in Marine Navy Star (ON SALE) Navy blue with stars is one of my fav combos. I love that these pants are fun and printed but not over-the-top and still easy to style. I have worn these to workout, but I usually wear them more at home or as a travel outfit.

  7. We Over Me The Bend Short from Bandier These are by far my favorite workout shorts. They are a super soft material and still thick so you don’t have to worry about them being see-through. I also appreciate that the high-waist band is actually comfortable while also holding everything in. I’ve worn these hiking, biking and just out and about and would 100% recommend.

  8. Caulipower Pizza Cauliflower anything is a yes in my book, and cauliflower pizza crust is something I’ve tried and loved before. But I’ve recently had the Caulipower brand of pizza and really loved it (the Trader Joe’s one is also great). We’ve been doing a semi-homemade thing by buying the cheese one and then adding our own toppings… pepperoni and pineapple would be my recommendation. If you haven’t tried cauliflower crust before give it a whirl. It honestly tastes just like regular crust, if not better. We did a side by side comparison with a regular crust and actually preferred this one as it wasn’t as dry.

  9. Trader Joe’s Cucumber Avocado Body Butter I prefer to use more natural body lotion and products, which is why I actually don’t really use this as a but I spotted this at TJ’s and had to try it out. I use this as a foot cream because it’s thick, has a nice smell and is cheap and keeps my feet nice and soft.
